Field Trips
I intentionally use field trips as high-impact learning experiences that build student engagement, teamwork, and real-world connections to computer science. Whether students are participating in hands-on simulations, exploring STEM museums, or experiencing interactive learning spaces, my goal is to help them connect classroom concepts to authentic environments that spark curiosity and deepen understanding. Field trips also strengthen classroom culture by giving students opportunities to collaborate, problem-solve, and reflect—so they return ready to apply what they experienced to future projects and assignments.
Bryce Canyon - Ring of Fire

We went with students to Bryce Canyon to see the Ring of Fire!

Ham Radio Club Fieldtrips
For two years, we ran the ham radio club and took them on subsequent field trips. One of the field trip that we took them on was a hike in the mountains where they were able to use their radios on a simplex.

Game Development Fieldtrips

We took the students on a field trip to the local campus, U of U to tour the game development facilities there and then afterwards we went to the local mall to try on the Apple Vision Pro. This was for the game development 2 classes.
