The Purpose of Certifications
I include my certifications on my website because they show my commitment to staying current, growing my skill set, and bringing high-quality, up-to-date learning experiences to students. Certifications demonstrate that I’ve taken the time to build expertise in specific tools and areas of technology, design, and instruction—beyond what’s required—so I can teach with confidence and create better resources for my classroom. They also highlight my mindset as a lifelong learner: I’m always refining my craft, expanding what I can offer, and investing in professional growth that directly benefits student learning.
I earned my professional teaching license through a rigorous preparation process that required both strong academic training and real classroom performance. To qualify, I completed a state-approved educator preparation program with extensive coursework in instructional design, classroom management, and assessment, along with supervised classroom experience and teaching evaluations. I also met all state requirements including background clearances and passing the required content and pedagogy exams.
My license includes endorsements in Computer Science and Engineering, reflecting specialized training in both technical content and how to teach it effectively—so I can deliver standards-aligned, high-impact learning experiences that prepare students with real skills.
